Both the government and marketing forces have been eroding our privacy unnecessarily. Our personal information must remain under our control. Government agencies are claiming the need to become peeping toms based on national security. Who is policing them, though? Marketing forces claim they need our data to better provide us with products and services we really want, but if we really wanted them, we would shop for them ourselves. Our private information is being used as a product itself and we are receiving no financial benefit, nor are we able to control its being sold to the highest bidder.
